Description
It’s true that we are suckers for some nostalgic retro vintage style but now and again the addition of modern design functionality can blend pretty well. The SCAPE is a perfect example of best of both worlds. The new 2 part injected sole and lightweight rip-stop nylon upper allows the Scape to weigh in 25% lighter, and boy do you notice it.
A mildly aggressive tread pattern allows terrain versatility. Our signature vari-flex lasting board does double duty as a shank to make sure flexion is controlled, but is softened under the ball of the foot with extra flex points in the sole.
The ripstop upper has critical area overprint for strength and weather resistance combined with oiled suede panels around heel, toe and eye stay. A heel retention cage is enabled with a lowered lace eye and fit has been relaxed with functional materials meaning comfort straight out the box, no wear in required!
Individual preference is catered for with both low-top and hi-top (technically more of a mid-top) versions available.

Adventures With Ridgemont Hikers
I got a new job where I have to inspect roads. I do around 30,000 steps a day so needed some comfortable sturdy walking shoes. I settled on these and they have been brilliant. My feet feel great at the end of each day. I went for a half size bigger as recommended. A side note is that they also look great. So many ugly shoes these days but these are lovely.

Great shoes, look great, nice build and materials.
My second pair of Ridgemonts and very happy with the Escape shoe in brown. Fits my wide feet, nicely water repellent and don’t look too obviously like walking shoes.
It’s the trainer I’ve been looking for! Blending that old style trainer with proper modern design. So well made. And ridiculously comfy. I love these shoes. Delivery was so quick. I will be buying again, and again!
Comfy and good looking
I've finally found a pair of hiking trainers that look good AND are good for the job. Light, great materials, no over moulded footbed, no narrow heel to twist your ankle. One point- the sizing is 'just' about right, slightly small. If you really intend to wear fat socks, go up a half -otherwise stick to normal. I had a small issue with my order, but they sorted it very quickly - so good customer care too.
Second pair of these. Wear them for work - comfy and smart.
Been looking for a while for a pair of 'retro' trainers and didn't want NB or Merrell. These are great, lightweight but really well made, good sizing and comfy straight out the box, the socks were really good too!

Very light and comfortable for general wear. Smart and stylish looking. Sizing is not accurate however, I need a full size bigger than I normally wear.

I love these trainers. The vintage design looks fantastic in grey and orange and they fit me perfectly. They also seem like really good quality.
If I were being really picky I would say that the insole could be slightly more cushioned but I am really picky there.
I would thoroughly recommend.
I have a pair of Monty Lo's which are also amazing. Ridgemonts are fast becoming my favourite brand of casual footwear.
It could be more comfortable using a strobel insock in EVA and Mid-sole could be softer
