It’s true that the Monty is inspired by the light hikers of the 80s, but we wouldn’t go so far as to call it a retro style. We’ve built the Monty on a slim, modern last, we utilize top quality materials, and state of the art manufacturing processes to make them. However, they do have definite analog aesthetic about them. We love the proportions and simplicity of the pattern which mask the real light-hiker abilities we’ve built in. The exposed EVA midsole cushions every step while the TP heel clip keeps you locked in. Our vari-flex lasting board does double duty as a shank to make sure flexion is controlled, but doesn’t sacrifice daily wearability. Did we mention that the Monty comes in both low-top and hi-top (technically more of a mid-top) versions? Talk about versatility.

- Bespoke Ridgemont gum rubber lugged sole for superior traction & grip with impact absorbing eva mid-sole.
- Eva-cush footbed - antimicrobial, lightweight, supportive and super comfy.
- Vari-flex lasting board - stiff in the mid and heel, softer in the toe. Protects the underfoot from sharp stones whilst retaining flexibility in the forefoot for comfort.
- Gussetted tongue to keep dirt and loose debris from sneaking in and irritating your feet..

Just like the Monty Lo, the Hi are extremely comfortable, lightweight & look great, love the 2 tone colouring. Perfect for a stroll down the country lanes & also look great with jeans!!!

My second pair - lovely and comfy.
Very comfortable and versatile. My husband has trouble with shoes but finds these to be well-fitting and comfortable. They are also suitable to wear in most situations. He has a few pairs of these now - please don't discontinue them!

Great looking boot in a slightly heritage gorpcore kind of way. Very comfortable out of the box. Maybe a little small fitting; I went up half a size to accommodate thick walking socks and that worked very well. Easy to wear colour-way. Personally wouldn’t wear these in very wet, muddy conditions but took a Nikwax spray very well and are fine for light rain, short, damp grass, etc.
I waited a few weeks to review these. They are fantastic. They look great, I love the design and overall multi-purpose use - streets of London and on trails. One of the best characteristics is the sole, it simply grips to anything I have tried so far.
I went with a half-size up from my usual, which at first I considered a mistake but after a week they became flexible, so all good.
The boots look good but they were far narrower than other brands I have tried. I ordered a size up as I have wide feet but no good. Customer service was smooth and refund was paid promptly.
