Sturdy but not well padded

I love the build, I normally wear a 9.5 but I got the 10. Should have stuck with 9.5. They have very little padding under foot. They're great for day hikes but I wouldn't take them out on a multi day trip.

Monty Lo for a reason

I got a pair of Monty Hi’s back in the summer and they were immediately comfortable and still are. So I thought I’d bag me a pair of their Lo brothers in the sale… but I am sad to say that they were immediately not as comfy and either felt like they were going to fall off due to the super loose laces or, tied up properly, actually hurt the top of my right foot and made my right big toe go numb whenever I stood still!
BUT… I persevered and I realised yesterday that I had not thought about them all day, as they are becoming as comfy as their hi top siblings, and so just needed a little wearing in!

Very nice shoes. I loved it.

loved the shoes, nice style and great product. I would suggest offering an optional wider version. It would fit more comfortably to wide feet like mine. Iwould recommend.

Smaller than expected

I ordered my usual shoe size, but these felt like they were designed for hobbits—at least a size too small! To make matters worse, they don’t even make larger sizes. As someone with wider feet, I felt like I was trying to squeeze a watermelon into a teacup. Needless to say, it didn’t work out.

Good style in the retro hiker

Overall it's hitting the exact retro hiker notes I like in the Danner Jag, which no longer comes in low-ankle versions. These Ridgemonts have a narrower toe box than the Danners, however. As the styles I like to wear with this kind of shoe often involve thicker socks, that can leave the front half of my foot a little constrained.
